Ingredients

75g x Plain/All-Purpose Flour

Pinch of Salt

1 x Egg

150ml x Milk

Butter or oil for cooking

Method

  1. Place all ingredients into a mixing bowl and whisk until smooth. The mixture should be the consistency of pouring cream. Cover and rest in the fridge until ready to use.

American-Style Buttermilk Pancakes

1tsp x Bicarbonate of Soda

1/2 tsp x Baking Powder

Pinch of Salt

1 x Egg

140ml x Buttermilk

1 tsp x Vanilla Extract

Butter or oil for cooking

Method

  1. Place all ingredients into a mixing bowl and whisk until smooth. This will be a much thicker batter than the British-style pancakes. Cover and rest in the fridge until ready to use.

  1. Place a frying pan over medium heat and add a little butter or oil for cooking. Place in some of the batter and form it into a small round shape using the back of a ladle. You can also add some fresh berries here before flipping if you like. Cook for two minutes on each side. Stack up and enjoy with your favourite toppings.
